When something bothers me, whether it be a personality quirk, a relationship issue, a recurrent fear, or any other conundrum, I like to look for clues in my Astrological chart to help flesh out the issue. Sometimes, this simply provides me with more resources to ponder instead of stewing over whatever I’m going through. I have a specific process for this that I thought I would share with you because it has helped me tremendously over the years.
Themes
Each planet rules an area of human life. You can read a more thorough analysis of each planet’s symbolism here, but I have also included a photo for easy reference. I like to identify the planets at play in my problem first. For example, if I’m experiencing a lot of fear and anxiety, I look at my Saturn and Pluto placements because Saturn deals with fear and anxiety and Pluto expands the more prominent planets in your chart. (If you don’t know your planetary placements, look up your chart here.)
Aspects
Once I’ve identified the planets at play, I look into the relationship between them in my chart i.e. their aspect. Aspects are the angle formed between two planets and what that aspect indicates for your relationship with yourself. Going with the above example, my Saturn and Pluto placements form a sextile angle, meaning they are essentially “in cahoots” with each other. If Saturn is stimulating anxiety and fear within me, Pluto is intensifying it. If the problem at hand revolves around a relationship, I like to look up my aspect chart with that person.
Transits
For more context, I like to look at what’s currently happening between my key planets. I use this website to look up the current transits and then determine the aspect they are in. Right now, Saturn and Pluto aren’t forming a significant aspect, meaning my fear and anxiety are coming from internal factors versus external ones.
Once you have all of the pieces of your puzzle, you can start obsessively googling. You’ll stumble on a lot of great information and find more threads to pull. I like to take notes as I read so I can reflect on how I’ve come to understand the problem at hand. I find that this process helps me look at myself and my problems more objectively, using curiosity as my driving force toward a solution.
