I had an entirely different post planned for today that I’m scrapping in favor of sharing something that’s been on my mind lately. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I’m doing here (on Substack), what I have to offer readers, and what I feel called to share. I read a lot of Substack newsletters and I’ve noticed myself getting sucked into the format of successful Substack writers, i.e. short-form casual content with lots of links and pictures. In examining the reasons why I subscribed to those newsletters in the first place, I admit that it’s largely due to their aspirational nature. I am a self-proclaimed self-improvement junkie, always looking to be “better”. Reader... I do not feel “better”. I have an inbox full of unread newsletters that I am dreading reading while simultaneously wanting to read them (does anyone else feel this way?!), a browser app full of links to shit I don’t need, and a whole lot of overwhelm.
Venus Cazimi was yesterday, a rare occurrence where Venus is exactly aligned with the Sun, “sitting in the heart of it”. This event offers a powerful rebirth of Venusian themes like love, beauty, and values. Venus Cazimi is an ideal time for clarity, intention-setting, and deep emotional insight. I took a long walk yesterday to clear my mind and tune in to my desires and it turned out to be exactly the heart-opener I needed. When I think about what practicing Astrology and The Enneagram mean to me, connection and peace are the words that first come to mind. I want to feel connected to myself and others and I want peace. I want the same things for you, and I want my posts to represent that.
All that being said, I will share more in upcoming posts about how I’m disconnecting from content that isn’t serving me and reconnecting to my goals for this newsletter. Thank you for being here!
P.S. for my Washington subscribers! I have also been considering opening my practice this summer to include in-person Astrology sessions. I’m envisioning a nature-filled walk where I can be present with clients in helping them learn more about their Astrological charts or Enneagram types. If you’re local and at all interested in this, please reply to this email and let me know!
