A Big Announcement and Spiritual Routines With Julianna Porter
In 2020, amidst a whole lot of unrest and confusion, The Rational Astrologer came to life. I remember sitting with my husband, who sweetly offered to put together a website for me, as he asked me questions about what I envisioned for this brand. I designed a logo in Adobe Illustrator, chose some colors I found on Pinterest, got help with content from a friend, and set out to create something I was really passionate about.
Here we are, more than a year later, and I’m realizing that I’m most proud of how I’ve gotten to know The Rational Astrologer instead of forcing it to be something predetermined. As a self-proclaimed control freak, this is pretty huge for me. This business has evolved in ways I did not anticipate when I started and I’m proud of the way I’ve followed my intuition every step of the way.
When I set out to rebrand my entire business, I knew exactly how I wanted it to feel. I met with Julianna Porter, of Jules Design Studio, and described a brand centered around intention, authenticity, and impact. I wanted this new brand to reflect my desire to help people live a life that’s a true reflection of who they are. I wanted the people who visit my website to feel intrigued, inspired, and excited.
I wrote to Jules:
“I aim to make people feel understood and validated so they can make decisions that support their values and live life with intention. I believe that Astrology and The Enneagram are the ultimate tools for unraveling one’s personality and discovering the reasons why we act the way we do. We are so much more than how we see ourselves.
The amazing feeling of connection I get when someone feels understood or validated by my work inspires me so much. Helping people reform the way they think about themselves and their lives keeps me motivated.”
Jules did an amazing job utilizing the spirit behind my work to design my brand. Every piece of this branding and website has meaning and is representative of my intentions with The Rational Astrologer.
So, without further ado, here is the new and improved Rational Astrologer! I hope you love it as much as I do. Respond to this email and let me know what you think :)

What does spirituality mean to you?
I lost both of my brothers, so believing that there is more out there than this physical plane comforts me. I often receive signs from them through animals and insects visiting me at random times that wouldn't normally make sense at that time. It always makes me wonder if it is truly them communicating with me because it feels like they are there. Remaining curious and open to receiving whatever may be out there. Not getting so caught up with the materialistic world and shutting off the possibility of things just because we can't physically see them. A sense of hope that there really is a divine plan out there for all of us and that when we pass on we don't just vanish into thin air. There are so many realms of spirituality to explore, (energy work, past lives, spiritual gifts, meditating into higher realms for a deeper understanding of worldly things, and so on), but it has mainly been the best form of healing for me. I still have so much more to learn, but I have loved this journey so far and look forward to continuing to practice it.
What spiritual practices do you engage with?
I engage in meditation and I often try to practice daily as often as I can even if only for a few minutes. I am a huge overthinker, so my brain appreciates the downtime to rest. Sometimes in meditation, I am visited by those who have passed on, or it feels as though I am able to assess a situation that has been heavy on my heart and view it from a place of love and higher understanding instead of reaction and emotion. I find comfort in being able to slow down and really sit with things now. I like to use the Insight Timer app for guided meditation and some instrumental music without words at times. I also love a good oracle session, but only practice this when I feel called. Spiritual books, crystal healing, journal sessions, and just good old fashion prayer are other practices I partake in. I often find myself praying for myself and others, to help get through this pain. In my experience, my prayers have been answered many times and it almost feels as though the Universe wraps me in a warm embrace when I really need it. Especially when it comes to death, I try to channel my pain in a way that redirects love through prayer to others when they really need it too.
What’s your favorite way to spend a free Saturday?
When the weather is nice I love starting the morning with a hike outdoors. There is something so peaceful about being in nature and being able to mentally work through things in a beautiful place. I also enjoy hanging out at a park while my husband slack lines, and I will spend this time reading our journaling on the grass- I'm an Earth sign so I love being in nature. We also float in our pool to really just slow down and take in the beauty we can see from our backyard.
